"The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich." -Proverbs 13:4
We've all done it before right? Thought to ourselves how much we'd like to have this or that, or do that or this but never do it... we desire a lot of things but don't make an effort to work towards them. Hence we are left with nothing and wonder why it would seem like others have what we've been setting our eyes on.
Diligent people go after what they want, they work hard knowing that nothing comes easy, if it were that simple to get things for free the entire world would be a bunch of lazies, not much fun if you ask me. [Watch Wall*E to see what the future would hold if that was the case. Plus it's a good movie in general.]
We should have a drive to accomplish things, we should be seeking after God with everything we've got, mustering up every bit of strength we have to get us there.
I see this verse as giving no one an excuse for being lazy. It's written in plain black and white, that a lazy man can desire all he wants but gets nothing, but a diligent man who works hard and seeks God will be made rich. [This doesn't always mean they will have a lot of money.] Their spiritual life would be made richer indubitably by striving to work towards something that will be everlasting. [Not saying that material things and accomplishments aren't good because most of them are important.] Just don't get consumed with little things that it distracts you from the bigger picture.
