Serve God With Your Gifts

So in keeping with my theme on Romans, I've decided to share something else I found to be pretty cool.

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness." -Romans 12:6-8

The verse that really stood out to me though, is 7. "or ministry, let us use it in our ministry; he who teaches, in teaching;"

I know that I've felt led in the area of ministry and seeing that verse there is a reminder of what the Lord has called me to do. For a long time I've tried to get away from that calling.
What I mean by that is, that at the time I didn't really know it was what I was meant to do. I just knew that I was good with kids and always worked with them. Whether it was babysitting since I was 12 or teaching Sunday School or VBS and now even working with 3D [which has been such a blessing to my heart I think you should know.]

I always thought, "Well gosh, if I want to be something or pursue something else in life than being a 'teacher' by golly I'm going to do it!" I never liked the idea that somehow my future was decided by everyone else and God except by me. I think it also had to do with me being rebellious and just not wanting to see where my gifts and passions really were. Now that I see it and accept it, it's exciting! I want to be able to use my ministry and teaching gifts to the best of my ability and trust God to help me minister to others who are in need of Him.

Whatever your gift or gifts happen to be, sharpen it, use it, share it, and most of all, THANK GOD FOR IT!
