Wow, it's definitely been awhile since I've graced you all with my presence here in the blog world. Not to worry though, I'm back ;] I had a pretty full day and I'm only just now getting to write about it. Which is awesome!
This morning I thought I overslept and would be late to work, luckily, [no pun intended] I woke up with just enough time to brew a cup of coffee and eat Nutella on toast. What a delicious way to start a morning, seriously... I don't care how tired you are, that will put a little pep in your step. Once arriving at work, I was greeted by my boss who welcomed me to one of the "slowest Saturday's" we've had in a long time. That was a little breath of fresh air for me, [literally cause we had the doors open] only because I was wiped out the day before making sure that myself and my co-workers didn't leave anything to make up for today. Mission accomplished.
I talked about some Spongebob with the boss man and that was hilarious! Yes, I do watch Spongebob and I think it's very funny. Ahh... the little pleasures in life, as weird as it may seem to some.
Business did pick up, [as it always does on a Saturday] so even though the few moments of relaxation on the job was short-lived, it helped me to pick up the pace as we continued to take in more orders.
After my shift was over, I stopped at Wendy's and had their new Spicy Guacamole Club. If you haven't had it, you totally should. My goodness, anything you can put an avocado spread in or on is absolutely heaven. [Okay, not literally, but it would be pretty awesome if God has some Guacamole Dip at the ultimate feast of feasts, just saying.]
So, after having heaven on a plate, or rather in a fast food wrap... whatever you want to call it... I was able to get my laundry done and gave my baby his first car wash by hand and OH what a B-E-A-U-TIFUL day to do it! Sunny, warm and just perfect. Looks fantabulous, very pleased with the outcome. Check out his new tattoo x]]
Overall, I'm just really thrilled with how productive my day went. I don't know what most of you do for St. Patrick's Day, but this was mine this year and it was fun. Now, after having shared my day's events I'd like to close this entry with a reminder of what the 17th of March is all about.
It's just a holiday that the Irish had borne as their national tradition. Drink beer and be merry with friends, family etc... right? No... not really.
Maewyn Succat.
Yes, you read right. A name some don't know. Or maybe some do, but know him better as Patrick. St. Patrick. How did this day originate anyway? Well, it's all about a dude who was kidnapped by pirates to Ireland and long story short, converted Gaelic Irish to Christianity. This is the part of the story that is becoming lost to the world.
So there you have it. Happy St. Patrick's Day all! And maybe take some time to reflect on the sacrifice Patrick made to bring the gospel to a place that was mostly blinded by paganism. Also, if you ever happen to catch eye of a three-leafed-shamrock, remember the Trinity. We serve a God who is mighty and loves us all. Regardless of all the wrong things we do. Father, Spirit and Son. Praise Jesus for His ULTIMATE sacrifice of His very life so that we could have the opportunity, if we so choose it, to spend eternity with Him. [And maybe eat some Guacamole Dip thrown in just for kicks. Who knows].
