For those BLAH sort of days...

"And let us not grow weary while doing good,

for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." -Galatians 6:9

This verse has been one of my many favorite verses of encouragement. There are a lot of times where we feel that we are doing everything right as we know how, wanting to please God and doing things in a way that glorifies Him. We seek honestly to serve Him and though we may do things right, unpleasant things happen or go down in our lives that seem unfair and we just don't understand why it's happening to us when all we know is that we haven't done anything to deserve certain things. In some cases it would seem that all of our good things go unnoticed quite often and that there is no point to continue working as hard as some of us do.

Eni Mini Miny Moe!!

Today was quite the adventure I must say. I think that's part of the beauty of not knowing what's going to happen. Honestly, how boring would that be if we knew everything. I sure wouldn't want to know, takes the fun out of experiencing things in the moment.

Let me start this story with a very sunny and warm Sunday of sand volleyball.

Maewyn Succat

Wow, it's definitely been awhile since I've graced you all with my presence here in the blog world. Not to worry though, I'm back ;] I had a pretty full day and I'm only just now getting to write about it. Which is awesome!

This morning I thought I overslept and would be late to work, luckily, [no pun intended] I woke up with just enough time to brew a cup of coffee and eat Nutella on toast. What a delicious way to start a morning, seriously... I don't care how tired you are, that will put a little pep in your step. Once arriving at work,

A Heart's Lonely Cry

Here lies this heart, broken and battered
It’s calling for help, it’s saddened and shattered
I see the pieces but what can I do?
I look towards the Heavens, can I trust You?

I attempt to see what’s before me but the way is shadowed
How I would like to know what the future holds or who’s steps must I follow
Maybe some things are just left to wander the unknown
But it frightens me to see what I reaped from what I’ve sown.

Will this heart be pleased with the deeds it’s done?
Can it live and be free once again to run?
The problem seems too big but what can I do?
I look towards the Heavens, can I trust You?

A still small Voice is heard above this lonely cry
The Voice of the One who’s life paid a price
A price far too great than I could ever bare
Why little heart do you doubt… do you fear?

“Let me pick up the pieces and mend them together”
Says the God of all things created,
From the tiniest flower to the change in the weather
“Yes, you can trust Me! And you I will never leave!”

A heart’s cry is no longer lonely or grieving
But fully reliant on the peace it’s been given
Yes the sun always comes after the rain
And this thing doesn’t last forever, this thing called pain.

Invest your money, not your life.

This is the slogan I received from a bank. It is good to invest our money, to provide us with security and create good retirement plans and all that. None of which is a bad thing, it's realistic for the time we mortals live on this earth, what we need to get by. How long we will be here, we don't know. However, to have the mentality that that's all there is to life, work hard and invest our money, so we can have nice houses, cool cars, and great clothes, then we are missing the main point and that advice to "Invest your money, not your life." isn't the best out there to hear and put into practice.

Beautiful Praise

As I watch my mum praise Jesus with her old records on a new turntable, it is a beautiful sight. I am reminded of when I was very young and how we used to spend time listening, singing and even dancing together in our kitchen. Good times. As we do the very same thing now, God is so good and worthy to be praised through whatever you can do and give. Even with some very old records =].
